The executive would like to wish each and every one of you a happy holiday season.
As mentioned in earlier emails, at the urging of the local executive, the Christmas Luncheon sadly had to be canceled.
The decision to cancel the lunch was not an easy one but we felt a necessary one given the present Covid surge.
We have now been in touch with all of the members who bought tickets for the event.
Ticket holders were given a choice for their ticket money, to have it refunded or to have the money donated to the Local 27 toy drive and to Jeanny’s Angels for assistance to the disadvantaged of London with clothing and personal needs items and toys to insure that all children can enjoy a good Christmas.
We are proud to say that in addition to the $100 donation that we all voted on, the retirees’ chapter will be donating an additional $340 to both of these causes with the funds from the ticket money donations.
Thank you to the members who donated their ticket money to these worthy causes.
Chapter members can still drop off donations of cash or unwrapped toys at the Local. Donations should be dropped off at the hall before December 16th, week days between 9am - 4pm. The hall now uses a controlled entrance, you will have to ring the bell at the front door and someone will let you in.
In the new year we will communicate to the membership decisions concerning the monthly meetings; this will be dependent upon the Covid situation and the decisions from the Local 27 Executive
